Post-Cold War energy treaty remains ‘significant threat’ to EU Green Deal

A draft proposal to reform the Energy Charter Treaty sent to governments this week would leave the door open for investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) attacks against tougher EU environmental legislation, lawyers have warned senior European Commission officials.
