‘Catastrophic losses’: Migrating freshwater fish suffer population collapse

Migratory freshwater fish in Europe have seen their populations decline by 93% between 1970 and 2016, according to a new assessment of global stocks which places the blame principally on the continent’s fragmented rivers.
