NGOs call for increase of EU climate targets amid heat waves and Covid-19

The EU must “urgently” increase its 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target from 40% to at least 65% and use EU funds to speed up a ‘just transition’, NGOs have said amid concerns of increasing temperatures across the continent.
