Governments adopt tighter rules on drinking water contaminants

A 'watch list' mechanism to monitor the presence of endocrine disruptors, pharmaceuticals and microplastics in drinking water moved a step closer to activation on Friday as the EU Council adopted reforms to the Drinking Water Directive (DWD) previously agreed with MEPs.
