Car makers understating hybrid car emissions, campaigners allege

Plug-in hybrid cars are “fake” electric vehicles that emit considerably more carbon dioxide than manufacturers claim, the green group Transport & Environment (T&E) alleged on Monday as it published an analysis of three popular models.
