Gas’s days as ‘bridge fuel’ are numbered, says top EU official

The EU has less and less need for fossil gas as a bridge to zero-carbon energy thanks to the “mind-boggling” rise of renewables, the head of cabinet for green deal tsar Frans Timmermans has said.
