Timmermans says he hopes not to use CBAM against China

European Green Deal chief Frans Timmermans has said commitments from China to peak emissions by 2025 and overhaul its coal policies would inform whether or not the EU would seek to introduce a carbon border adjustment mechanism on Chinese imports.
