Calls for EU action as Catalan town battles plastic pellet pollution

Millions of stray plastic pellets or nurdles from the two million tonnes produced annually at southern Europe’s largest petro-chemical complex in Tarragona, Catalonia, are severely impacting the environment in the western Mediterranean, two NGOs reported today.
