German carmakers fined €875m for NOx emissions collusion

Three of Germany’s largest carmakers formed an illegal cartel by agreeing to fix the amount of harmful nitrogen oxides emitted by their diesel engines at just below the legal limit, the European Commission announced on Thursday as it issued a multi-million euro fine.
