Non-state actors sound alarm over lack of biodiversity commitments

More than 100 civil society groups have issued a statement calling on governments to show more ambition to tackle a “catastrophic loss of biodiversity” worldwide in the run-up to a UN summit that environmentalists hope will yield a global deal analogous to the Paris Agreement on climate action.
