IUCN summit addresses undersea mining, destructive fishing

Governments should ensure that no deep-sea mining is permitted until it has been demonstrated to pose no risk to complex and vital marine ecosystems, members of the International Union for Conservation of Nature have agreed in a resolution adopted at its World Conservation Congress in Marseilles.
