Rail a viable alternative to a third of Europe’s busiest flight routes - report

Current timetables show train journeys of less than six hours could be taken in place of 34% of Europe’s most heavily used short-haul flights, according to research commissioned by Greenpeace as the European Commission finalises a plan to boost rail travel.
