EU plan to cut pesticides an ‘empty promise’ without hard data on current use

The proposal to halve pesticide use across the EU by 2030 will be meaningless unless lawmakers address a woeful lack of reliable data on current levels of use as they negotiate reforms to statistics rules, a raft of campaign groups has warned.
