EU agrees to end fossil fuel subsidies, but sets no deadline

The EU is set to move towards a ‘wellbeing economy’ model and phase out support for fossil fuels, after MEPs and government negotiators closed a year of negotiations over the bloc’s 8th Environmental Action Programme.
