Mediterranean to be sulphur emission control area by 2025

Mediterranean coastal states this week agreed to create an emissions control area (ECA) for sulphur oxides (SOx) in the Mediterranean with an additional commitment to work towards extending the measure to include nitrogen oxides (NOx) as in the existing ECAs in the North Atlantic and Baltic seas.
