Parliament’s lead negotiator seeks even tougher car and van CO2 limits

Jan Huitema, the European Parliament’s rapporteur on a proposal to revise CO2 emissions limits for light vehicles, has called for the average CO2 output of new cars to be reduced to just a quarter of current levels by 2030, well below the level envisaged by the Commission in its ‘Fit for 55’ package of climate policy.
