German climate chief backs gas build-out, opposes taxonomy plans

German economy and climate minister Robert Habeck has said the country will have to build more gas power infrastructure in the coming years as it plays catch-up on its missed climate targets, but that the fossil fuel has no place in the EU green taxonomy.
