Proposed carbon price for shipping weakened by ‘arbitrary loopholes’

Roughly half of the ships operating in Europe might avoid paying for their greenhouse gas emissions under a planned extension of the EU emissions trading system to the maritime sector, the campaign group Transport & Environment (T&E) argues in a new report.
