How a single vote watered down Parliament’s position on CO2 cuts for cars

MEPs on the environment committee narrowly voted on Wednesday to endorse a proposal that would prohibit the sale of internal combustion engine cars and vans from 2035. But several measures proposed by rapporteur Jan Huitema did not make the cut – in one case thanks to a single vote.
