Commission targets 50% cut in pesticide use by 2030

The European Commission has presented a legal proposal to halve the use of chemical pesticides by the end of this decade, making good on a central commitment in its farm-to-fork strategy for sustainable agriculture but attracting criticism for the leeway it grants to national governments.
