Five-point increase to 2030 renewables target could halve gas import dependency

Raising the 2030 renewable energy target to 45% could allow the EU to reduce gas imports to a third of last year’s level, a new study suggests, while the head of the International Energy Agency says the energy crisis has prompted an “extraordinary new phase” of growth in clean power.
