Interview: CropLife director on pesticide targets and gene-edited crops

These are febrile times for the agrochemical industry. With decimated pollinator populations merely one of the most visible aspects of biodiversity decline attributed to intensive farming practices, the European Commission has set the goal of halving the use of chemical pesticides and increasing the area of land under organic cultivation to a quarter of all EU farmland, both by 2030.
