EU ETS: 2.5bn tonnes worth of CO2 emission allowances deleted

Pollution permits equivalent to more than roughly double the annual greenhouse gas emissions of industrial installations covered by the EU’s emissions trading system (ETS) have been cancelled, the European Commission has reported.
