Portugal’s environment agency greenlights new lithium mine

The expansion of lithium mining in Portugal, which has Europe’s largest resource of the mineral, gathered pace last week after the national environment agency (APA) announced a favourable impact assessment for a lithium mining and refining project at Montalegre.
