EU energy regulator calls for doubling of EU power system flexibility

With a massive increase in deployment of wind and solar power in the coming years, Europe must quickly scale up the capacity of the electricity grid to adjust to fluctuating power output from renewable sources, Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) has warned in a joint report with the European Environment Agency.
