Campaigners welcome MEPs’ support for broader rules on right to repair

Manufacturers should be prohibited from using design features, software updates and contractual clauses to limit consumers’ options for repairing goods ranging from smartphones to fridges, the European Parliament’s committee on internal market and consumer protection has agreed.
