Greens and Left isolated amid cross-party support for new GM crop law

The diverse EPP, S&D, Renew, ECR and ID groups have spoken with one voice in support of the proposed lighter regulation of crops produced using new genomic techniques (NGTs) and called for negotiations to be speeded up – in stark contrast to the Greens/EFA and Left groups, who found common ground with the others only in opposition to the patenting of new crops.
