Environment MEPs in near-unanimous call for higher COP28 ambition

Fossil fuel use, unabated or not, must be phased out “as soon as possible” and subsidies halted by 2025, the European Parliament’s environment committee has agreed as it adopted the assembly’s draft position on the forthcoming UN climate summit.
