ECHA probe reinforces case for restriction of toxic chemicals in childcare products

Carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR) substances are present in many childcare products such as car seats, bibs and baby changing mats, a probe by the European Chemicals Agency has found, with toxic metals like cobalt and lead and phthalates such as DEHP among the most commonly found.
