Industry groups fear a ‘linear’ approach as UN and EU move to cut plastic waste

The trade group Plastics Europe has criticised an initial negotiating text of a forthcoming global plastics pact for relying too heavily on “negative lists or bans”, while drinks and food producers have urged MEPs to reject proposals for increased reuse targets during a plenary vote on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation next week.
