Aluminium producers outline decarbonisation plans as it make EU ‘strategic’ raw material list

European aluminium producers have released a report outlining pathways to reduce by 90% a carbon footprint currently equivalent to 24 million tonnes of CO2 a year, a day after legislators agreed the base metal should be treated as a “strategic raw material”.
