Parliament urges 80 per cent cut in GHG emissions

Europe must reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by "at least 80 per cent" by 2050, MEPs said in a non-legislative resolution adopted on Tuesday in Strasbourg. It is the first time EU lawmakers have called for such a tough long-term emission reduction target.
