Eight countries seek free EUAs for power plants

Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Romania have applied for free carbon allowances (EUAs) for their power sector under phase 3 of the EU's emissions trading scheme, says the European Commission.
