Sharp drop seen in UK emissions last year

UK carbon dioxide emissions fell by 7.4% in 2011, according to ENDS estimates. The fall, which was calculated from provisional energy consumption figures, is due in part to lower energy use. It more than reverses a 3.8% rise in emissions in 2010.
