Commission airs views on industrial accidents
The European Commission has released responses received to a consultation it launched in April on how to strengthen EU controls on industrial accidents (ENDS Daily 17 April). The proposed revisions to the existing "Seveso II" directive follow a series of disasters affecting the pyrotechnics and mining industries. Most of the respondents are industry associations, but they also include several EU governments and two environmental groups. See lists of respondents and comments on the Seveso II consultation page.
