UK forced to release MOX fuel study

The UK government yesterday told environmental group Friends of the Earth that it would after all release a censored version of a controversial report into the economic viability of the mixed oxide (MOX) fuel plant at Sellafield. The report should be made available by the environment ministry some time next week and a four-week consultation will follow. Last month, FoE mounted a legal challenge against the government, in part to gain access to the study (EED 28/05/01). See Friends of the Earth press release.
