Norwegian panel seeks to cut waste at source

Norway's environment ministry has appointed a commission to look into ways of reducing waste generation. The 11-strong panel, which is due to report next June, has invited the public to participate through its web site run by the GRIP centre, a government foundation promoting sustainability, and has written to various businesses and organisations soliciting suggestions. "We shall look at everything from the broad macro-economic situation to major consumer trends among teenage girls," Øystein Sætrang of GRIP told Aftenposten newspaper. See GRIP and the commission.
