Italy criticised over waste oils rules
Italy should be condemned for failing to provide the EU with implementation reports on the 1975 waste oils directive, European court of justice advisor Dámaso Ruiz-Jarabo Colomer said today. In a case not contested by the Italian authorities, the advocate general upheld a European Commission complaint that a first report covering the three years 1995-97, required under the 1991 information provision directive, was incomplete. The opinion is almost certain to be backed by the full court. See the opinion in case C-376/00.
