Scottish sustainability under debate
Scotland's commitment or otherwise to sustainable development is in the news, with the emergence on Tuesday of a government action plan neatly anticipating a critical report on its pre-action plan achievements published today by environmental group WWF. Several new moves are promised in the action plan, including a "clear statement of what sustainable development means for the Scottish executive" around the turn of the year. Released today, WWF's report slams past performance but deems the executive's new plan "encouragingly consistent" with its own recommendations. See more on the action plan and WWF report.
