Germans share green expertise with Czechs

Germany and the Czech Republic have agreed to intensify cooperation in environmental protection, especially on climate. Under the pact, Germany will share its experiences with environmental taxes and efforts to boost renewable energy, according to a statement from Berlin. The two countries are to jointly develop projects aimed at meeting greenhouse gas emissions targets under Kyoto. They are also seeking to improve air quality around the German-Czech border. This will particularly depend on Czech chemical companies cooperating with local environmental officials, according to the German environment ministry. See press release.
