Further drift for European IPP plan

The European Commission should now issue a communication on integrated product policy (IPP) on 18 June, not 11 June as we reported yesterday, sources told ENDS Europe DAILY today. Environment directorate officials played down the extent of arguments still going on between directorates, but four are understood to have issued "unfavourable opinions" on Ms Wallström's proposals (internal market, enterprise, agriculture and transport and energy) and most if not all of them have some reservations. Debate has now shifted from Commission services to the political offices of the 20 commissioners.
