EU steps up research on indoor air pollution
Efforts to monitor indoor pollution and its impact on human health are to be intensified, the European Commission announced on Monday, as hundreds of experts met in Ispra, Italy, for a conference on the issue. The Commission's Ispra-based joint research centre (JRC) is taking the lead to develop new approaches and research methods, the Commission said. The aim is to gather data that may in future "provide the basis for policy initiatives at EU and national level", a Commission spokesperson told ENDS Europe DAILY. See press release.
