Estonian drinks packaging law approved
Estonia's parliament backed a new government-proposed law on drinks packaging on Wednesday. The act introduces deposits on glass and plastics containers from 1 January 2005 and forces producers and importers to create networks for taking them back after use. One amendment introduced by deputies allows the environment minister to fix the level of deposits on containers with the proviso that they are not lower than EKr0.5 (€0.03) per bottle.
