UK think-tank pushes sustainable building
A UK government think-tank has urged the adoption of a sustainable construction code to improve energy and water efficiency and waste management in public buildings. The cross-ministry group said that tighter regulations should also cut energy and water consumption by 25%, and 10% of building materials should come from "sustainable sources". It added that private sector construction could be encouraged to use the code through fiscal incentives. See press release.
